While the technical details are our proprietary technology protected by copyright, trade marks and patents (pending), suffice it to say that our dedicated servers are checking the World Wide Web for domain accessibility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your system allows for logging referrers (not all server setups do – if in doubt, check it with your system provider or administrator), you can run a stats analysis on your system logs and determine the amount of unique traffic generated. 2. Alternatively (or additionally) you can set up a dedicated web page to which traffic will be directed. Next, set up a counter program for this page and/or check your logs to determine the amount of unique traffic generated. What is your definition of a “unique visitor”? By our definition, a unique visitor is a surfer accessing your site once in two calendar weeks.
